Whether you use this direct line to our home offices or call your agent to report a claim, you can be sure we'll help you start the recovery process as soon as we are aware of your situation.

Take the proper steps as soon as a loss or mishap occurs:

Auto accidents

  • Stop at the scene.
  • Check for injuries.
  • Exchange names, addresses, telephone numbers, and insurance information.
  • Get the names and phone numbers of those who witnessed the accident, and call the police.
  • For your protection, make no comment or statement about the accident, except to law enforcement officials or an identified representative of your insurance company.
  • Report your claim immediately.

Damage to home or business

  • Call the police if theft or vandalism is involved.
  • Prevent further damage by boarding windows or covering exposed areas; however, do not significantly alter the scene until you have spoken with your insurance representative.
  • Report the claim immediately.

Liability situations

  • Get medical help.
  • Record all the information possible surrounding the circumstances of the accident.
  • Get names and phone numbers of witnesses.

Workers' compensation cases

  • Get immediate help for the injured worker.
  • Complete required report forms, gathering the following information: employee's name, address, telephone number, social security number, date of birth and date of hire; the date the incident occurred; a clear, precise description of the circumstances causing the incident; a precise description of the injury and the area of the injury; employer identification number (EIN); contact person; and telephone number of employee.
  • Contact your insurance agent or Mutual Benefit as quickly as possible.

A representative of Mutual Benefit will contact you within 24 hours after notification of your claim. Our goal is to resolve most claims within 14 days.
  • Save time and money with preferred body shop/ auto glass replacement programs - You'll be back in the driver's seat in no time when you ask our claims representatives to provide you with a list of qualified auto body shops and glaziers near you. There is no need to gather estimates or have an appraiser approve them. Simply contact one of these shops and repairs can begin as soon as you pay your insurance premium deductible. All work is guaranteed.
  • Our Mutual Care program gives injured workers the attention they deserve - Mutual Care, our workers' compensation managed care program, is offered in partnership with CorVel Corporation, one of the leading providers of workers' compensation managed care services in the United States. CorVel assists by:
    • Containing costs
    • Helping to eliminate frivolous and fraudulent claims
    • Focusing on enabling your valued employee to return to work sooner
    • Serving as a resource throughout the recovery process

Insurance fraud costs you money

You may believe only insurance companies should be worried about insurance fraud. But it's a crime that costs you money, too. According to the Pennsylvania Insurance Fraud Prevention Authority, insurance fraud costs the nation $160 billion annually � that's $600 per year for every man, woman, and child in the United States.
