Litigation Specialist 







Summary of Duties

The litigation specialist directs, plans, and coordinates litigation activity for all policies with the exception of workers’ compensation for both in-house and field adjusting personnel. Specific duties include handling litigation files with approved defense counsel from first notice of lawsuit through conclusion; monitors performance of all attorneys within designated specialty in both quantitative and qualitative terms; works with vice president of claims to establish technical policies and procedures; assists in development implementation and compliance of litigation management plan; conducts annual audit of open and closed litigation with attorneys who are approved for use by MBG, rates each attorney with respect to expense containment and quality of work; attends CRG trial conferences, depositions and meditations as needed; and performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.

Necessary Qualifications

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience combination; proficient interpersonal relations and communications skills (both written and verbal); thorough knowledge of claims; strong analytical and problem solving skills; capacity to work well independently; moderate computer knowledge; minimum of ten years’ experience with investigation, management, and negotiation of liability claims in MBG states of operation (Pennsylvania and Maryland).

A ‘remote work’ option in MBG’s Pennsylvania or Maryland territory is a consideration for an external candidate who possesses the right combination of desired skill set and insurance litigation experience.
