Summary of Duties

The software quality assurance developer’s role is to design, code, test and analyze automation scripts and amalgamates understanding among business and technology partners.  The incumbent must achieve familiarity with software automation techniques and software quality best practices and be able to handle moderate analysis and problem resolution.  This includes supporting software quality assurance automation efforts; planning, organizing, documenting, and communicating; developing technical and analytical skills.  The software quality assurance developer receives and performs responsibilities with the direction of their supervisor/manager, or project lead, and performs responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Necessary Qualifications

Applicants must possess general equivalency or Associates in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems; ability to establish and nurture positive working relationships with peers, management and business partners; proficient communications skills (both written and verbal); demonstrated ability to conceptualize, analyze, and resolve problems within required time frames; demonstrated experience in setting schedules and meeting deadlines; demonstrated skill in at least one line of business; capacity to learn new technologies; demonstrated judgment and problem-solving abilities; organizational and time management skills; strong customer service orientation; an eye for detail; and successful completion of Insurance Institutes of America Intro course within one year of placement into position.  

Specific requirements for each level are as follows:

Software Quality Assurance Developer II 

a. Minimum of 1 year of Position-related experience
b. Mastery of C#, JavaScript, and Java
c. Mastery of Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio Team Services
d. Mastery of SQL and MySQL databases
e. Mastery of two verticals – Requirements Analysis, Software Quality Assurance, Test Automation, or Property and Casualty Insurance

 

Software Quality Assurance Developer III

a. Minimum of 2 years of Position-related experience
b. Mastery of C#, JavaScript, and Java
c. Mastery of Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio Team Services
d. Mastery of SQL and My SQL databases
e. Mastery of Automation architecture and software
f. Mastery of three verticals – Requirements Analysis, Software Quality Assurance, Test Automation, or Property and Casualty Insurance
