JOB SUMMARY
The Commercial Lines Underwriting Technician calculates, rates and keys data into rating system to produce new, renewal, endorsements, cancellations, reinstatement quotes and policies for all commercial lines of business. Specific duties include maintains quality and service standards as established; rates and issues quotes, new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements, including more complex accounts; reviews, analyzes, and processes requests received from underwriters and agents; communicates effectively with management, underwriters, technicians, and agents to secure the information necessary to accurately process business; documents files; ensures policy forms and endorsements are appropriate and meet compliance standards; calculates and processes reinsurance and audit transactions accurately; proactively coordinates work with others in support of department objectives; answers technical support phone queue providing technical support to agents for CLIR system; and performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must possess general equivalency or high school diploma; comprehensive understanding of commercial lines rating function; proficient interpersonal relations and communications skills; proficient data entry abilities; demonstrated mathematical skills; demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and adapt readily to frequent change; proficient computer knowledge; organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills; strong customer service skills; and a minimum of two years’ experience in related position(s).
