MBG CEO to Serve as Vice Chairman of NAMIC

Steve Sliver, president and chief executive officer of Mutual Benefit Group, will serve as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC).

NAMIC supports regional and local mutual insurance companies on main streets across America, farm mutuals throughout the country and many of the country’s largest national insurers. The Association’s mission is to strengthen members and the mutual insurance industry by leadership in advocacy, public policy, public affairs and business support services. NAMIC membership includes more than 1,400 member companies that write $268 billion in annual insurance premiums.

Sliver was elected as Vice Chairman during the annual meeting of members held at NAMIC’s Annual Convention. Upon accepting the role, Sliver committed to five years of board leadership with NAMIC. He will serve his term as Vice Chair, a term as Chairman-elect, and then fill the board’s top elected post as Chairman in 2021-22. He will continue to serve on the board as a past chair for two terms.

His duties as Vice Chairman include serving on the board’s Audit/Finance/Risk Committee, Governance Committee and Nominating Committee.

Sliver has been a member of the NAMIC board since 2010. He held the office of Secretary/Treasurer from 2016-2019 and served on the NAMIC Insurance Company (NAMICO) Board of Directors from 2013-2016.
