Joe Sloan retires as CFO, VP, Sec, and Treas. of Mutual Benefit Group

Joe Sloan of Huntingdon retired from his position as Chief Financial Officer, VP, Sec, and Treas. with Mutual Benefit Group on December 31, 2025, after 42 years of service.

Joe accepted a position as Treasurer with Mutual Benefit Group in 1983 and was named a Vice President in 1994. In 2008, he was named Chief Financial Officer for Mutual Benefit. He continued to serve as Vice President and Treasurer for the organization through the rest of his tenure.

Prior to joining Mutual Benefit Group, Joe was a certified public accountant (CPA) with Mills & Kimlin, CPA, in Johnstown.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Juniata College and obtained his CPA certification in 1983.

Joe served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (PAMIC) for 14 years. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).

Joe and his wife, Ellen, are the parents of a daughter, Mary, and two sons, Jack and Dave. During his retirement, Joe is looking forward to spending more time with his family and enjoying the outdoors through hiking, fishing and hunting.
