Tom Coyne joins MBG as Vice President - Personal Lines Product Management

HUNTINGDON, Pa. Tom Coyne joined Mutual Benefit Group on April 21, 2025, as the Vice President – Personal Lines Product Management

Tom Coyne joins the Mutual Benefit Group with a wide range of experiences gathered through over 30 years in the property and casualty insurance business.  With an M.A.T. in Education and an M.S. in Physics, Coyne first served as a high school Physics, Calculus, and Computer Science teacher before joining N.A.S.A. and working on the power system for the Space Station.  His career in insurance started at Progressive, where he held multiple different roles in IT, Pricing, Product Management, R&D and Customer Service.  He moved on to roles of increasing responsibility at Hanover, Travelers, Hartford, Plymouth Rock and Mercury, with all roles focused on Personal Lines.  More recently, Tom served as the CUO and Head of Insurance at two start-up operations, before joining Mutual Benefit Group.

In his free time, Tom enjoys reading and spending time with his family, including his fourgrandchildren.  He is a long-suffering fan of the Cleveland sports teams and supports The Ohio State University Buckeyes.  His wife Stephanie is also a lifelong member of the insurance industry, and they are currently in the process of relocating from Southern California to the State College area with their dog Gabby.
