Robert R. Packer, M.S.
Robert Packer has served on Mutual Benefit Insurance Company’s Board of Directors since 1995. He is currently Chair of the Board and has previously served as Audit Committee Chair.
With decades of leadership experience in healthcare, education,finance and community service, Robert brings deep expertise in executive management, regulatory oversight, financial stewardship and board governance.
Robert earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and went on to complete a Master’s degree from Saint Francis University with a focus in labor law.
His career in healthcare leadership spans several decades, including serving as President and CEO of the Home Nursing Agency and later as President of UPMC Home Health. Notably, he was the first non-clinical professional to provide peer review analysis for the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP), setting a precedent for broader perspectives in healthcare quality assessment.
Robert currently serves as Vice Chair and Audit Chair of Marion Center Bank’s Board of Directors.
Robert has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to education and public service, having served as President of the Penns Manor Area School District Board for over 30 years. His community involvement also includes past service on the boards of the Central Pennsylvania Foundation and the Clymer Borough Municipal Authority.
Robert is actively involved in his church as a Trustee and Treasurer. He is also a dedicated football coach for the Penns Manor Area School District. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting, fishing and spending quality time with his grandchildren.
