MBG’s Network Administrator honored among area’s top young professionals

Mutual Benefit Group’s Network Administrator, Ben Kilian, has been named one of the area’s Foremost Under Forty professionals by Pennsylvania Business Central, a business publication serving 24 counties in Central Pennsylvania.

According to the publication, the Foremost Under Forty program was established to recognize young professionals who “make a positive impact on the Central Pennsylvania business community by consistently moving their business forward, adapting to major changes in their personal and professional life and giving back to the community through volunteering or mentoring.”

“This year we are particularly proud to recognize a rising generation of business leaders that has adapted and innovated to meet the unique challenges of the past year,” commented Editor David Harry. “The 42 professionals honored in the 2021 edition of Foremost Under Forty exemplify the vision, drive and determination needed to find success in a business environment that has dramatically changed.”

Kilian played an instrumental role in technologically enabling MBG’s staff to move to a work-from-home environment in a matter of days during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown in Pennsylvania.

“Ben has always shown a willingness to do whatever is needed for our team to succeed, whether it means taking on an extra project or staying late to help a teammate finish a task. He also provides exemplary customer service, no matter how busy or stressed he may be. He’s an asset to the team and is shaping up to be a fantastic leader.”

After watching Kilian on the job as a college intern, Mutual Benefit Group’s Information Services team hired him as soon as he graduated from Bob Jones University in 2017. In March 2021, he was named Network Administrator. In this role, he is tasked with performing and overseeing all responsibilities related to training, maintenance, upgrade, installation and configuration of MBG’s corporate network and personal computer hardware and software.

Kilian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology with a minor in Business Administration. For the past four years, he has volunteered as both the head of Information Technology and a youth leader at the Community Chapel of Hesston.

Kilian has been married to his high school sweetheart, Nicole, for four years, and they have two children. Ben enjoys spending time with his family and also likes to spend time outdoors, especially playing his new favorite sport – disc golf.
